LUMINOSE brand management, web design and development

In 2014 we established 'LUMINOSE - the lovely lamp', a physical design lamp product with Elizabeth Zimmerer – my former university classmate. The project started in the wood workshop at Moholy-Nagy University of Art and Design based on Elizabeth's lamp prototype, she created for a university task. Based on the cheerful design, our curiosity and general encouragement, we decided to proceed further, and build it to a design product, and small business project. While Elizabeth worked on the physical product design, my reponsibilites were everything brand and online presence related, starting from naming and research – the lowest levels of a digital branding process. The project enabled me to work through every stage of branding and digital product development, from communication, through design to code. The project was the first truly multidisciplinary work that covered many of my interests. It encouraged me to further shift my focus to brand, design and web development, based on the great experience and international exposure we had with the project. LUMINOSE was published on leading online design magazines (e.g. Yanko Design) and physical books, and was exhibited at multiple local and international design exhibitions, including the Fuorisalone in Milan in 2017. By 2020 we manufactured and sold ca. 500 lamps by almost only relying on our own online retail channel.
